Senior Meals

Senior meals programs are designed to provide a nutritionally balanced meals for the elderly citizens. It is the goal of the senior meals program to promote better health, reduce isolation and loneliness. and to promote companionship to senior citizens.

A congregate and home delivered meals program is offered at both locations. Meals are prepared in each local community and are served Monday through Friday. Volunteers deliver meals to the frail and disabled in each community.

Funding for Senior Meals

The funding for the two local senior meals program is provided by the Older Americans Act Title IIIC2, Harper County tax funds, participant contributions, and USDA subsidies. An expected contribution for meals received is requested from all program participants age 60 or over and their spouse. Persons who are not age 60 are welcome to attend but are charged the full costs of the meal when attending. Expected contribution and full cost of the meal rates are posted at each Senior Center.
