Courthouse Beautification

The limestone sign and landscaping currently happening at the SW corner of the courthouse has been planned for over 5 years.  It is completely funded with unused monies raised by the sale of the Lady Justice medallion in 2000.  A group of citizens worked together to help fund the restoration and placement of the Lady Justice statue  by selling medallions and the leftover funds were earmarked for courthouse historical  civic projects.  The sign project was intended to be completed when the courthouse steps were being redone and as such, using leftover stone if available.  All costs, including county labor, will be paid for by these funds, which are not available for county operations.  No tax dollars or any other county revenue is being used.   Oh by the way, there are still medallions being sold and they make great gifts.

Cheryl Adelhardt, Chairman Restoration/Centennial Committee

Thank you to the Harper County Bridge Crew for working on these sweltering days preparing the footing and to the Harper County Master Gardeners for their help with the landscaping.
