SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT

It is the responsibility of this department to accept waste (useless and/or discarded materials). 

 

Each user shall sort and/or separate each type of waste.

The County will assess the highest dumping fee to waste that is “mixed” and not sorted/separated.

 For example, the fee to dump Construction/Demolition Waste mixed with Solid Waste will be the higher Solid Waste fee.

 

 The County absolutely does not allow “mixed loads” of leaves and/or grass clippings and Solid Waste (household trash) to be dumped. 

 

Explosives, radioactive and medical waste, ammunition, asbestos etc. are not accepted.   

 

FEES DOUBLE FOR LOADS NOT COVERED AND OUT OF COUNTY WASTE.  THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

COMPOST

 

  1. Leaves and/or Grass Clippings, Trimmings and Limbs are handled free of charge.

CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITION AND INDUSTRIAL WASTE, TIRES AND APPLIANCES

 

  1. The fee for dumping Construction/Demolition and Industrial Waste (asphalt shingles, wood, metal, rubber, wire, etc.) is $.01 per pound and (cement) is $.005 per pound.  There is a $10.00 minimum fee.   

 

  1. The fee for dumping tires is $1.50 per unit. A unit equals 20 pounds.                                                                                                                       

 

  1. The fee for dumping household appliances without freon (dishwashers, stoves, barbecue grills, etc.) and other all metal products is $.01 per pound.  Household appliances with Freon is $10.00 each. There is a $10.00 minimum fee.

  1. Household Hazardous Waste is handled free of charge. 

 

RECYCLABLE MATERIALS

 

  1. Recyclable materials are handled free of charge.

 

SOLID WASTE

 

  1. The fee for dumping solid waste is $.02 per pound.  There is a $10.00 minimum fee.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

 

1. The fee for each chain pull off and each chain hook up is $10.00.
